Land Concern reached out to Tournesol Siteworks after seeing our Pots & Planters options which offered structure to the space with repeated planter styles, shapes and form. They were a key element which brought color, created a pop to the natural greenery and brought the design together.

Our VertiGreen 3D Modular Trellis Panels were installed vertically along the building walls on the patio. VertiGreen panels are a rigid, commercial-grade, 3-dimensional trellis system that provide a 3" grid spacing (or are also available in 6"), with each panel measuring 72"H x 48" W x 3"D. Their durability is solidified with an extra coating of zinc prior to powder coating to resist rust and corrosion over time. VertiGreen panels support and protect robust foliage growth and protect the underlying structure while supporting climbing plants and vines. Beautiful greenery on the panels brought a dimension of height to the patio and finished off the creative landscape composition.

In Southern, California, Tournesol Siteworks had the opportunity to collaborate on a project with Land Concern, a leading landscape architectural firm. Land Concern has been providing design services for their client Thompson’s Building Materials in the city of Orange, for many years.

Land Concern was challenged to create an engaging and unique spot at Thompson’s Design Center, on the street-side patio, that would feel separate from the busy street. According to Philip Stevens, Project Manager with Land Concern, their goal was to “Convert an inefficient landscape to an outdoor sales center with displays for contractors and their clients to view products in "real life."

Not only was the design a challenge, but their client also wanted as many different materials to be showcased as practical, with a cohesive feel. They created two well-defined patios highlighting Thompson’s masonry with a low water focused landscape of horizontal and vertical flowering shrubs, succulents and grasses.

For the landscape installation, 15 Tournesol planters were specified, which included six of our Arcade Collection round planters in lightweight GFRC concrete, measuring 24" Dia. x 8"H in the Sandblast texture and Sahara color. Land Concern also selected six of the Urban Collection tall, square planters in lightweight FRP fiberglass, measuring 24" Sq. x 48" H in Mandarin Orange color. The bright shade of orange added a fantastic pop of color to the landscape design. Finishing off the styles was the Downtown Collection round, lightweight FRP fiberglass planters in the beautiful color of Aged Bronze each 36" Dia. X 24" H.

Thompson’s Building Materials were thrilled with the final product and Land Concern was excited to have met their customer’s expectations. We are so proud to have served our customers well and to have added to their success.
